Fakahatchee Strand Preserve

State Park - Florida, United States

Florida's largest state park preserves the only place in the world where bald cypress and royal palm trees share a forest canopy. Known as the 'Amazon of North America,' this 85,000-acre swamp contains 47 native orchid species including the famous ghost orchid, providing critical habitat for Florida panthers and black bears.
