Natural Area - Alberta, Canada
Protected area in southwest Alberta preserving diverse habitats from the Oldman River alluvial plains to alpine tundra and cliffs. Named for the central beehive-shaped mountain, it contains extensive old-growth spruce-fir forests believed to be over 1000 years old, lodgepole pine forests, grasslands, and herb meadows. Created in 1987 to preserve ecological diversity.
