Natural Area - Alberta, Canada
Located along a tributary to Shunda Creek at the site of a former coal mine near the abandoned mining town of Alexo. The area has regenerated with mixedwood communities typical of the northern foothills, featuring forests of lodgepole pine, aspen, and white spruce-lodgepole pine mixtures. Spans both Upper and Lower Foothills subregions.
