Tallurutiup Imanga

National Marine Conservation Area - Nunavut, Canada

Tallurutiup Imanga National Marine Conservation Area is Canada's largest protected marine area at 108,000 km² - twice the size of Nova Scotia. Located on the east coast of Baffin Island, it represents 1.9% of Canada's marine protected area coverage. The name means 'the sea ice never stops' in Inuktitut. Co-managed with Inuit communities. Protects critical Arctic marine ecosystems, narwhal migration routes, and polar bear habitat.
