National Park - Oaxaca, Mexico
Ricardo Flores Magón National Park protects diverse ecosystems in coastal Oaxaca including dry forests, medium deciduous forests, coastal scrubland, medium semi-evergreen forests, wetlands, and Pacific coastline. The park encompasses the Bocana de Copalita archaeological site, the most important pre-Hispanic site on the Huatulco coast dating back 3,000 years. With 227 species of migratory birds passing through the region and only 30-40% of the archaeological complex excavated, this park combines significant cultural heritage with exceptional biodiversity along the mouth of the Copalita River.
