Alligator River

National Wildlife Refuge - North Carolina, United States

The largest refuge in North Carolina protects 152,000 acres of unique pocosin wetlands on the Albemarle Peninsula. This rare ecosystem provides critical habitat for black bears, red wolves, and American alligators.
