The first Georgia state park named for a woman, this 626-acre park honors a Waycross conservationist who promoted forestry education. Located near the mysterious Okefenokee Swamp, the park harbors alligators and carnivorous pitcher plants. A 120-acre lake offers fishing, swimming, and boating, while the 18-hole Links golf course was voted Best Municipal Golf Course in Georgia.
