State Park - Oregon, United States
Lake Owyhee State Park is a remote desert canyon oasis on the 53-mile-long Owyhee Reservoir, formed in 1932 by an irrigation dam. The park offers fishing, camping, and boating in a rugged landscape where bighorn sheep roam. The Owyhee River derives its name from Hawaiian laborers killed by Snake Indians in 1819 while serving a Hudson's Bay Company fur trapping expedition.
