Baddeck River Wilderness Area encompasses 2,778 hectares in Victoria County containing two steep-sided branches of Baddeck River with over 35 km of river beside hardwood slopes, a wetland complex near Bell Lakes, and productive lowland areas. The wilderness protects endangered species habitat including American marten and Canada lynx. The Baddeck River system is significant for brook trout and Atlantic salmon populations. The area borders Usige Ban Falls Provincial Park and serves as a critical wildlife corridor between lowlands and plateau. Recreation opportunities include wilderness travel, hiking, sport fishing, hunting, trapping, snowmobiling, and ATV use on designated routes.
