Wilderness Area - Nova Scotia, Canada
Island Lake Wilderness Area protects 3,937 hectares of land, wetlands, and water in the St. Margarets Bay area of Halifax and Hants counties, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Halifax. The area centers around scenic Island Lake and extends north to Little Walsh Lake and south to Ingramport. Features include old-growth and conifer forests, numerous lakes and wetlands, and the lower Ingram River.
