Located 20 km southwest of Mayerthorpe, this natural area protects rolling upland aspen forest at the headwaters of the Paddle River. Named for the river's slow current that allowed canoes to be easily paddled during the fur trade era, the area lies in the Athabasca River Basin watershed.
