Natural Area - Alberta, Canada
Located adjacent to the Red Deer River with lowlands cut by old channels, floodways and gravel bars. The lowlands support mainly balsam poplar and willow communities. Historic township plans from 1896 reveal significant river channel changes - the historic course ran south of the current channel. Wildlife includes White-tailed and Mule Deer, Coyote, forest birds, and shorebirds.
