Provincial Park - Quebec, Canada
Managed by Parcs Nunavik. The largest provincial park in Quebec at 26,107 km². Located on the east side of Hudson Bay near Umiujaq. Contains Lac Wiyâshâkimî (Quebec's second-largest natural lake at 1,226 km²), formed by dual meteor impact craters 287 million years ago. Features Lac Tasiujaq with brackish tidal waters hosting seals and belugas. Home to the rare 'Lacs des Loups Marins' freshwater seal subspecies (under 500 individuals). Contains Hudson Cuestas ridge system and the Nastapoka River watershed. Supports 38 mammal species, 131 bird species, 42 fish species, and over 500 plant species. Archaeological evidence shows 2,800+ years of human occupation. Host communities: Umiujaq and Kuujjuaraapik.
