Witjira

National Park - South Australia, Australia

Protecting Australia's largest array of artesian springs 987km north of Adelaide, this park features the National Heritage-listed Dalhousie Springs - over 60 natural hot springs emerging from the Great Artesian Basin. Water temperatures reach 37-43 degrees Celsius, with the main pool open for swimming year-round except summer closures. The ancient springs hold deep mythological significance for the Lower Southern Arrernte and Wangkangurru peoples. This was the first South Australian park to have formal joint management with traditional owners.
