National Wildlife Refuge - Connecticut, United States

The Connecticut units of Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge protect nearly 1,000 acres along the Connecticut River valley. The Salmon River Division features freshwater tidal marshes and cold-water streams, while Whalebone Cove hosts Connecticut's largest stand of wild rice and wintering bald eagles.
