About Mount Matutum

Mount Matutum Protected Landscape protects a dormant stratovolcano rising to 2,286 meters, the highest peak in South Cotabato. Its forested slopes shelter the Philippine eagle, hornbills, and tarsiers, and the reserve is a key watershed for surrounding agricultural lowlands. Established under Proclamation 552 in 1995 and reaffirmed by the E-NIPAS Act of 2018.
