About Ligawasan Marsh
Game refuge and bird sanctuary (Commonwealth Act 648, 1941; protected under the 1992 NIPAS Act) covering the largest freshwater marsh in Mindanao. A critically important wetland for migratory birds and freshwater fish at the confluence of the Mindanao and Pulangi rivers. A formal NIPAS protected-area proclamation has long been proposed but not finalized.
