The Khawrs of the Dhofar Coast is the umbrella reserve network designated by Royal Decree 49/97 covering nine coastal lagoons (khawrs) along the Salalah coast, including Khawr Rawri, Khawr Taqah, Khawr Ad Dahariz, Khawr Al Mughsayl and Khawr Awqad. These brackish lagoons form critical breeding and migration habitat for flamingos, herons, spoonbills and other waterbirds.
