An uninhabited coral islet (Pakshipitti) on the Pitti Bank in the Lakshadweep Sea, India's only oceanic-tern nesting sanctuary and an Important Bird Area. Notified as a bird sanctuary under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and re-dedicated in 2019 as the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, it protects nesting sooty terns, greater crested terns and brown noddies.
