About Cheriyapani Sea Cucumber

The world's first sea cucumber protected area, declared by the Lakshadweep Administration as the Dr. K. K. Mohammed Koya Sea Cucumber Conservation Reserve at Cheriyapani reef. It protects holothurian (sea cucumber) populations and the surrounding coral-reef ecosystem from poaching.
