About Lake Dennison

Lake Dennison Recreation Area encompasses 4,000 acres surrounding the scenic Dennison Lake in Winchendon, Massachusetts, offering camping, swimming, and fishing in the remote north-central highlands near the New Hampshire border.

Wildlife Ecosystems

The large forest block supports moose, black bear, fisher, and numerous woodland species. The lake attracts loons, ospreys, and various waterfowl. Beaver activity has created wetlands throughout the property.

Northern hardwood forests of sugar maple, beech, and yellow birch predominate. The lake shoreline supports diverse wetland vegetation. Mountain laurel blooms profusely in June.
