About Ramit
Ramit Nature Reserve encompasses mountain forests on the southern slopes of the Gissar Ridge in the upper reaches of the Kafirnigan River. Designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2025, the reserve is home to snow leopards and operates a breeding program for endangered Bukharan markhors.
