About Tigrovaya Balka
Tigrovaya Balka is the oldest nature reserve in Tajikistan and Central Asia's most important tugay riparian forest ecosystem. Located at the confluence of the Vakhsh and Panj rivers, it was one of the last strongholds of the Caspian tiger. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it protects Bactrian deer, striped hyenas, and over 20 significant bird species.
