Pulau Kapas Marine Park, gazetted in 1994 under the Fisheries Act 1985, conserves the coral reefs and marine life around this small island off Marang. Managed by the Department of Marine Park Malaysia, it is known for sandy beaches, snorkelling, and a one-nautical-mile protected zone (smaller than other Malaysian marine parks).
