Pulau Payar Marine Park, off the Kedah coast between Langkawi and Penang, protects four islands — Payar, Kaca, Lembu, and Segantang — and their surrounding reefs. Gazetted under the Fisheries Act and managed by the Department of Fisheries Malaysia, it shelters some of the oldest coral reefs on Peninsular Malaysia's west coast and is famed for its reef sharks and snorkelling.
