About Gunung Jerai

Gunung Jerai (Kedah Peak) rises 1,217 m above the coastal plain of northern Kedah, an isolated quartzite massif holding the oldest exposed rock in Peninsular Malaysia. Protected as a forest reserve since 1953 and centerpiece of the Jerai National Geopark, it shelters montane forest, waterfalls, and a recreational hill resort reached by a summit road.
