Flora Ecosystems
Subtropical rainforest dominates the sheltered valleys and slopes, featuring bangalow palms, hoop pines, and diverse vine forest species. Warm temperate rainforest occurs on cooler aspects. Tall wet sclerophyll forest with flooded gum forms the transition to open forest. The Tooloom Scrub is one of the significant rainforest remnants of the Richmond Valley hinterland.
