About Gunnison Gorge
Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area protects a dramatic stretch of the Gunnison River below Black Canyon, featuring a deep double canyon, adobe badlands, and world-class Gold Medal trout fishing and whitewater. Designated an International Dark Sky Park, it shelters bighorn sheep, river otters, and raptors. The area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as part of the National Conservation Lands.
