About Dominguez-Escalante
Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area protects over 200,000 acres of rugged red-rock canyons, sandstone bluffs, and pinyon-juniper woodlands southeast of Grand Junction along the Gunnison River. It encompasses the Dominguez Canyon Wilderness, ancient petroglyphs, waterfalls, and habitat for bighorn sheep, elk, and golden eagles. The area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as part of the National Conservation Lands.
