About Dr. Salim Ali

An estuarine mangrove sanctuary on the western tip of Chorao Island in the Mandovi River near Panaji. Named after ornithologist Salim Ali, it protects dense mangrove forest and is a key habitat for resident and migratory waterbirds, including kingfishers, herons, egrets, and the occasional flamingo.
