About Qinghai Lake

China's largest inland saltwater lake and one of the most important bird habitats in the country. The reserve protects breeding grounds for bar-headed geese, brown-headed gulls, and great cormorants on Bird Island and surrounding wetlands at 3,200m elevation on the Tibetan Plateau.
