About Wolong
Wolong is one of the earliest and largest giant panda reserves in China, established in 1963 and expanded in 1975. Located in the Qionglai Mountains of Wenchuan County, the reserve spans diverse elevations from 1,200 to over 6,000 meters, supporting ancient forests, bamboo groves, and alpine ecosystems that shelter over 150 wild giant pandas.
