Bearberry Prairie

About Bearberry Prairie

Encompasses braided river floodplain, part of the river embankment and several islands in the Red Deer River with diverse vegetation. Features aspen/white spruce forest on slopes and balsam poplar/wolf willow on terraces, along with bedrock exposures and diverse riparian communities. The natural area is a combination of one O.C. and four PNT sites along the Red Deer River, with the O.C. portion contiguous with the Sundre Natural Area.
