About Boeng Tonle Chhmar

A core area of the Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve on the northeast fringe of the lake, comprising permanent open water and flooded forest. Designated a Ramsar site in 1999, it holds globally threatened species including the Mekong giant catfish, greater adjutant and hairy-nosed otter.
