About Astola Island

Pakistan's first Marine Protected Area, designated by the Government of Balochistan in 2017. This uninhabited island in the Arabian Sea off the Makran coast protects nesting green and hawksbill turtles, the endemic Astola viper, breeding seabirds, and rich coral and marine life.
