Lampi Island

Lampi Marine National Park covers 20,484 ha in Boatpyin Township, Tanintharyi, within the Mergui (Myeik) Archipelago. It was established in 1996 and declared an ASEAN Heritage Park in December 2003^[1].

Major coral formations surround the smaller islands^[1].

Lampi Island is about 48 km long and up to 6 km wide, generally hilly, rising steeply from sea level to 270 m and to 500 m in some areas. Much of the coast is rocky, with some sandy beaches, bays and inlets, and the island has large caves and many freshwater sources^[1].

The park was established in 1996 and became an ASEAN Heritage Park in December 2003^[1].

The park includes Lampi Island and the islands Wa-de-kyun, Pulo Nala (Eyes Island), Kanzagyi, War Kyun (Dolphin Island), the Gregory group, Wa-ale Kyun and Pulo Nala Myun^[1].
