About Nam Lan

A government-managed conservation area of densely forested, steep terrain (600-1,850 m) in Boun Tai District near the China border, drained by tributaries of the Nam Ou. It supports rich birdlife including hornbills and the Near Threatened lesser fish eagle, and offers community-based trekking ecotourism.
