About Beung Kiat Ngong
Beung Kiat Ngong is a freshwater wetland complex of swamps, lakes, and marshes in Pathoumphone District, designated a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance in 2010. It is the only known peatland in Laos and supports rich fish biodiversity, waterbirds, and freshwater turtles, lying partly within Xe Pian National Protected Area.
