About Vostok Island

A tiny, near-pristine coral island designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1979, almost entirely covered by a dense Pisonia forest that supports dense colonies of nesting seabirds. Despite its small size it is of exceptional conservation value as one of the least-disturbed islands in the Pacific.
