About Fudam

Fudam Bird Sanctuary is a 2.18 km2 coastal wetland on the western side of Diu Island in the Diu district. Centred on a mangrove-fringed tidal creek and intertidal mudflats, it is an important wintering and staging ground for migratory waterbirds including flamingos, painted storks, ducks, waders and herons, and is managed as a protected area by the union territory forest department.
