Salamonie Lake was the first of the major Wabash River dams, completed in 1966 for flood control by the Army Corps of Engineers. The 12,554-acre property features a 2,665-acre lake with 40 ponds, marshes, and wetlands, plus extensive trails for horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling.
