About Tengchong Beihai

A volcanic dammed-lake wetland northeast of Tengchong noted for its thick floating peat mats ("floating grasslands"), the only wetland of its kind in southwest China. Protects the Beihai marsh and Qinghai crater lake and is a popular scenic and birdwatching area.
