Located 130 km west of Rocky Mountain House on the east shore of Abraham Lake, this area protects stands of Douglas fir which are native to but relatively uncommon in Alberta. The highly diverse plant communities provide excellent ungulate habitat and can only be accessed by foot or canoe.
