About Bilby

Bilby Natural Area features upland aspen-balsam forest with rose and beaked hazelnut shrubs, willow wetland, black spruce peatland, grassy meadows, and mature white spruce stands. Beaver dam-formed ponds provide habitat for blue-winged teal, great blue herons, and spotted sandpipers. The area is notable for birdwatching, with species including northern orioles, rose-breasted grosbeaks, ruffed grouse, woodpeckers, and waterfowl. Dead trees along Kilini Creek support woodpeckers and tree-nesting ducks.
