This 2-million-hectare reserve 30km north of Ceduna protects vast expanses of red sand dune country stretching toward the Great Victoria Desert. Experience true wilderness among sparsely vegetated dunes that create striking photographic contrasts of red sand against blue sky. Rare wildlife includes scarlet-chested parrots, major mitchell cockatoos, thorny devils, and malleefowl. Mount Finke rises 137km north of Ceduna as a prominent rocky outcrop with spectacular views across the surrounding shrublands.
