About Nuevo Uxmal
Nuevo Uxmal National Park is an ecological conservation area protecting medium semi-deciduous forest ecosystems between Yucatán and Campeche states. Located near the UNESCO World Heritage Uxmal archaeological zone and Xkipché site, the park preserves over 700 native species including the Ocellated Turkey, Yucatan Parrot, jaguar, margay, white-tailed deer, and collared peccary. The park captures approximately 40,000 tons of atmospheric carbon annually and opened to public recreation in April 2025, featuring ecotourism activities, camping, Mayan cultural experiences, and trails connecting to Uxmal.
