About Hand Hills Ecological Reserve

Protects the largest remaining fescue grassland in the world. Over 130 bird species including threatened ferruginous hawks, endangered piping plover. Lush plains rough fescue grassland, moist meadows, shrub thickets and aspen woodland. Located in Central Alberta, 30 km southeast of Drumheller.
