About Birch Island Provincial Park
A remote non-operational provincial park located on Lake Winnipegosis approximately 150 kilometres north of Dauphin. The park features a diverse mix of mature forest and muskeg habitats that are home to moose, bear, wolf, lynx, snowshoe hares and deer. Current hunting, fishing, trapping and gathering activities continue while the designation legally protects the area from commercial logging, mining, hydroelectric development, and oil and gas development.
