About Lava Tree

Eerie forest of lava molds formed when a 1790 flow surrounded ohia trees, cooling around the trunks before the trees burned away. A 0.7-mile loop trail winds through the tree molds, some reaching 12 feet high, in a lush recovering rainforest. Free admission.
