About Arrowhead
Arrowhead State Park, now formally known as the Arrowhead Area at Lake Eufaula State Park, is a 2,200-acre recreational area located in northern Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, on a peninsula extending into Eufaula Lake. Situated near the city of Canadian, the park offers a diverse range of outdoor activities centered around one of Oklahoma's largest reservoirs. Eufaula Lake, created by the damming of the Canadian River, covers approximately 102,000 surface acres and provides over 600 miles of shoreline. The park's peninsular position affords visitors access to water on multiple sides, making it a popular destination for boating, fishing, and swimming. The landscape combines rolling hills, wooded areas, and open meadows characteristic of southeastern Oklahoma's Cross Timbers ecoregion. The park features hiking and equestrian trails, a marina, campgrounds, and various recreational facilities. It serves as one of several state park areas around the massive Eufaula Lake, which was completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1964 for flood control, water supply, and recreation.
